My Camera Gear...Facebook App

I have been planning on adding a "My Camera Bag" thing sometime soon and I just saw on Facebook (through a photographer friend of course...Matt Morrow) an app that is perfect for it. So come check it out if you are interested. So that would be a.) fellow photographers, b.) grooms & c.) bride's dads. :) ha OK there are a few of you brides out there who care. :)

Just don't tell my D3 about it because his little brother is listed before him...it's alphabetical.

Lightning Struck...many times

Anna, Elaina, and I went out for a quick bite tonight and when we got done, there was a really cool lightning storm passing by. There was never a drop of rain near us but there were beautiful well-defined clouds with all kinds of lighting flashing around. I took a few shots, dropped the girls off and headed out into the country a little bit and snagged a couple fun shots.

The Brides of Oklahoma

Today is a great day to mention a new high-end bridal publication in Oklahoma. The Brides of Oklahoma. This beautiful magazine is currently in it's first print and I hear buzz about it all the time. It is such a great way for upcoming brides to see and read all about some great Oklahoma weddings and for those who are all partied out from theirs to publish all the fun stories and photos. And of course it is a perfect way for brides and vendors to connect.
Make sure to pick up a copy in any local bookstore and if you are interested in showing off your wedding from last year through this fall, you can buy a page or two to publish your big day. (or buy a g.c. for someone else!)
I didn't know much about it until it came out this year but I will be in there with a nice ad for '09.
The 2 creative forces behind the mag, Ashley and Kami, have already started getting new '09 promo materials out and I am glad to be included in it with the above photo.

be sure to check out the Brides of Oklahoma Website and blog.

thanks Ashley and Kami!

Just lazin' around in the caribbean...

updated post:
at the end of February, daddy and the 2 girl power team headed down to Cancun for strictly some chillin' out. It wasn't quite like the rest of the Caribbean but the water sure put you in that kind of mood.
We stayed at the Gran Melia' in Cancun...pretty good. "Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good". I actually tried to avoid the camera as much as possible given that I had pressed that little black button, oh about 150,000 times in the last 12 months. But I did have my new D3 so I couldn't resist a few destination travel shots and of course some of little miss Elaina (who is becoming quite comfortable in front of the camera I might add).
so some views from the Melia:

we took one field trip down to Tulum. About 2 hours south to where the seaside Mayan temples are. This was so cool. It is the ruins of a little walled city right on the coast. You have probably seen pictures of this area a lot.

So in true tourist dad form, I said, "OK girls, time to do a little historical exploration..."

"do we have toooo..."

"ok, ok, but I call the stroller."

"I'll be kickin' it over here if you need me"

"Ok this is pretty fun, I have to admit"

Photo by the infamous Anna Rose

But for the most part, we just slept in every day, played around and sat by the pool. And of course ate a lot of fish tacos and guacamole.

Finishing up taxes this week in the rain felt a thousand miles away from all of that. :(

Hey how bout some sharing some love in the comment section for 4 days in a row of posting.!

Hook yourself up with the feed...

I imagine most of you use an RSS feed for blogs. I recently finally figured out mine and got the link right. (oops sorry for not having it working for so long.) So if you are already down with RSS, then make sure you have mine on there. (pretty please:))

If you are like, "whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis" then let me explain.
RSS is just a way to subscribe to a feed for a blog or website. It lets you know when the author makes an update and give you a concise list of what's new. How to do it? Just click on the RSS link on the right. Then bookmark that "feed list" page. (you may want to make a bookmarks folder with all your RSS feeds) Then whenever you are online, it will tell you when your favorite sites are updated.

I know many of you already know all this, but since my link was incorrect for a long time, and up until now, I haven't blogged too consistently, I thought I would bring it up. I have a bunch of new posts coming up and starting next week, my busy wedding season kicks off so I will be posting a lot more.

And thank you so much for visiting here. I am amazed at how often I run into people who check in regularly. I guess I don't really know because there aren't too many comments. (yes, that was a puppy-dog-eyed plea for more love in the comment area:)

Speaking of that, I am so Apple-centric, if you have any tips for RSS usage on a PC, do share.
